The British Institute of Kitchen, Bedroom & Bathroom Installation is delighted to announce the latest wave of retailers to be awarded Accredited Installation Methods (AiM) certification, the comprehensive industry standard for fitted interiors.
At an event held in on the Parliamentary Estate on Thursday 30 July, kitchen and bedroom retailers Wren Kitchens and Roundhouse Design were both awarded their formal certification, presented to them by BIFIS CEO Damian Walters.
Both retailers, having met criteria designed to support local, regional and national retailers in the delivery of a risk reduced and professional installation service to their customers, were recognised for their robust approach to fitted interiors installation.
AiM launched in Autumn 2024 to establish a recognised industry standard and to accompany supportive measures delivered by the UK’s only institute dedicated to fitted interiors installation, that reduces risk, demonstrates credibility and provides quality assurance to all stakeholders involved in the installation process. In addition to providing consumers with peace of mind, which is usually associated with accreditation, this ground-breaking certification also aims to provide a shining beacon for professional installers who may be interested in working with ‘installer-friendly’ retailers and main contractors.
BIFIS CEO Damian Walters commented “Our announcement today is a fitting example of how two vastly different businesses, by scale, coverage and audience, can benefit from AIM certification. The initiative is still in its relative infancy, and we have not only seen a 100% retention on those businesses that achieved certification last year, but we are on track to growing the number of retail participants – both in number and diversity.”
Damian went onto say: “I have always been an advocate of creating a level installation playing field for our industry to operate from and whilst these businesses offer two very different propositions, they do so from a unified agreed standard and one that each can build upon to offer a proposition for their respective customers.”

BIFIS is actively working with a growing number of retailers through the accreditation process, with further awards expected over the coming months.
