About us

The British Institute of Fitted Interiors Specialists (BIFIS) launched in 2006 and is the UK’s first and only not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the fitted interiors sector.
We represent thousands specialist tradespeople and installation businesses nationwide, together with some of the world’s most prominent manufacturers, suppliers and retailers of fitted interiors products. As a not-for-profit organisation, we rely on our registered members and corporate sponsors to fund our work.

What we do

BIFIS is the only organisation of its type focused on supporting the frontline efforts of our industry today and overcoming the medium to long-term challenges faced by the sector.
Trades & installation businesses
We support our registered businesses by driving positive change in the areas most critical to their success, supporting their business needs and representing the installation sector with the wider fitted interiors industry, as well as working closely with the Department for Business & Trade and other government departments on behalf of our stakeholders.
Retailers & main contractors
Supporting fitted interiors retailers and main contractors that install via an employed or sub-contracted workforce by reducing risk and complexity with regards to their installation proposition through our compliance management, inspection and recruitment solutions.

We work closely with manufacturers, suppliers and distributors, creating a platform of recognition highlighting the importance of the installation sector across the fitted interiors industry, working together to identify challenges, create solutions and develop growth opportunities.
